Background

Jay has practiced Yoga for over 11 years. Styles include Hatha, Flow, and Ashtanga.

Teaching Focus

In Jay’s teaching experience, he has discovered that certain yoga postures often bring up a sense of fear for many students. Due to these feelings and obstacles, they cannot deepen their practice and sometimes even give up on their practice. The primary cause of this is a lack of muscular strength.

Hence, in private classes, Jay will focus on increasing muscular strength, assisted by exercises in flexibility as well as props to create a precise and safe yoga practice. For students who have old injuries or sport injuries that create difficulty in practice or in life, Jay will design classes for their specific condition, adding therapeutic exercises as needed.
